Story By Coach Bjorn Jansen
The England Athletics National Championships in Birmingham brought together the very best young athletes in the country. For SpeedPro’s Tommaso (Tommy) Crosara, it was another chance to prove himself on the big stage. Just four weeks after winning the English Schools Junior Boys 300m, he lined up again and delivered a second national title to confirm his status as the UK’s leading U15 300m athlete.
National U15 300m Heat – Friday
Championships are about handling rounds, and Tommy’s first task was a clean passage through the heat. He stayed composed and in control, qualifying comfortably in 36.06 seconds, his third-fastest time ever over the distance. It was the perfect way to start his campaign — smooth, efficient, and with plenty left in reserve.
National U15 300m Semi-Final – Friday
Only a few hours later, Tommy returned for the semi-final. Once again, he showed maturity beyond his years, running strongly down the back straight before pushing clear in the home straight. His time of 36.16 seconds secured a place in Saturday’s final, balancing speed with energy management to ensure he was ready for the title decider.
National U15 300m Final – Saturday
The final brought the fastest qualifiers together for one last showdown. Conditions were blustery, but Tommy kept focused and stuck to his race model. Out smoothly, he controlled the first 150 metres, transitioned off the bend, and drove hard down the home straight. Stopping the clock at 36.66 seconds, he claimed the National U15 300m title — completing an extraordinary championship double in four weeks.
A Championship Double
Three races in two days, three well-executed performances, and one gold medal. Tommy’s National title adds to his English Schools crown and underlines his ability to deliver when it matters most.
From a 35.76 personal best at English Schools — a mark that made him UK No.1 and 16th all-time — to navigating three tough rounds at Nationals, Tommy has established himself as a standout young talent in British athletics. For SpeedPro, his back-to-back titles represent the result of hard work and the beginning of an exciting journey ahead.
