March 2025: SpeedPro Athletes Deliver Standout Performances

Story By Bjorn Jansen

March was a standout month for SpeedPro athletes, with impressive early-season performances and national-level achievements. Our athletes made their mark in championship and open competitions, setting the stage for an exciting summer season.

Neva Jansen Claims First National Medal

The first weekend of March saw Neva Jansen claim her first-ever national medal in the discus at the UK Long Throws Championships. Competing against the best throwers in the country, Neva secured a bronze medal, a testament to her dedication and hard work. This breakthrough performance sets a strong foundation for her upcoming competitions.

Neva continued her momentum by delivering another fantastic throw at the Bracknell Young Athletes Open Meet. She won gold in the U17 discus with a throw of 36.98m, her second-farthest mark ever and only 9cm of her personal best. She also achieved the English Schools National Standard and is ranked 2nd in the UK. With her current form, Neva is on track for an outstanding season.

Bracknell Open Meet Performances: SpeedPro Sprinters Kick Off Their Outdoor Season

The Bracknell Young Athletes Open Meet was a perfect opportunity for several SpeedPro sprinters to launch their outdoor campaigns, and they did not disappoint.

Freya McAndie (U15) – Sprinting Towards a 300m PB

Freya McAndie showed early-season speed, clocking her second-fastest 200m time of 27.75. This promising run suggests that her 300m personal best of 42.81 could be under threat this season. With the speed already there, it’s only a matter of time before she breaks new ground over the longer distance.

Tommy Crosara (U15) – UK Number 1 in the 100m

It was a dominant display from Tommy Crosara, who won the U15 boys’ 100m (11.66) and 200m (24.02). His outstanding performance keeps him ranked number one in the UK for the 100m. With his speed and consistency, Tommy is proving himself as one to watch this season.

Amelia Barnes (U15) – A Strong Start Across Distances

Amelia Barnes opened her outdoor season with two solid sprint performances, running 13.41 in the 100m and 28.01 in the 200m. With her talent and work ethic, we’re excited to see what Amelia can achieve this summer, especially over the 300m, where she has great potential.

Leah Olima (U17) – A Stunning 100m Debut

Leah Olima made her first 100m appearance of the season, which was impressive—stopping the clock at 12.87. This quick start suggests plenty more to come, and we can’t wait to see how much Leah improves over the summer as she refines her speed and race execution.

Thomas Whorton (U17) – A Strong Comeback in the 400m

After an eight-month injury layoff, Thomas Whorton returned to competition in style, running 56.56 in the 400m in his season opener. Given his time away from the track, this is a fantastic starting point, and with more races under his belt, Thomas is set for a strong season ahead.

Looking Ahead

With a national medal, multiple race wins, and impressive early-season times, March was just the beginning for our SpeedPro athletes. Expect to see even more personal bests, championship qualifications, and standout performances as the outdoor season progresses. The hard work continues, and exciting times are ahead!
