What a night it was – how athletics should be experienced at this level. Hosted by Highgate Harriers, the Night of the 10,000m PBs delivered more than just competition; it offered a truly captivating experience for the whole family. The event buzzed with energy from start to finish, creating a stage where our Junior Athletes could take centre stage in the 800m races – the highlight of their season. The atmosphere was electric, charged with anticipation, and filled with moments to remember—a night of racing, community, and celebration that will stay with us all.
For the SpeedPro coaching group, it is rewarding to have two athletes competing at this level and to experience first-hand what the professionals go through when they compete, which is second to none.

Isabella Harrison returned to the Night of the 10k PBs in U15 800m, wanting to produce a performance that would move her up the UK rankings. In the lead up, Isabella had been showing that she was starting to come into form over the half-mile in training during the week, and she did. Isabella finished 3rd in a personal best time of 2:12.37, 2 seconds quicker than the week before at Surrey Champs and moving her to 4th in the 800m UK rankings.
Thomas Whorton was experiencing the Night for the first time, competing in the U15 800m. It was only his third outdoor race this season after winning a silver medal at the national indoors in February. Despite minimal training over the past three weeks due to injuries, Thomas aimed for an outdoor season's best. He finished 6th in a season's best time of 2:03.76. Thomas's performance indicates more to come from him this season.
